The Problem With Sissies

The problem with sissies is that they rarely take good photos of themselves. Maybe its a lack of technical knowledge, but I think its probably more of being in a hurry to get their panties off and change back into non sissy mode.

Yes, I know there are some sissies that dress up and prance around all the livelong day, but I think they are the exception.

So here is a very interesting Tumblr blog I found featuring a little bit of everything. Its called Menelwena for some reason, possibly because that’s her name. Some images are NSFW but are very tasteful. Enjoy.

Photographing Friends

You want to make him comfortable and relaxed so the photo looks natural, not forced. I’ve found the best way to accomplish this is to talk to him during the photo shoot.

Tell him he how adorable he is, or how great his hair looks, or how sexy his beauty mark is. Keep the compliments flowing until you get a shot that reflects his inner poise, confidence and beauty.

And the most important thing to remember is not to make fun of his big nose or hairy ears, because after all, nobody’s perfect.

Sally’s Erotic Images and Other Thoughts

Are you tired of blurry, grainy, badly composed photos of crossdressers, sissies and transvestites? Do you feel that great erotica is more than just nudity? Would you like to look at something other than men in panties and lingerie once in a while?

Well if so you’re in luck and I have just the thing for you. Its classy, its tasteful, and its also very erotic. Its called Sally’s Erotic Images and its one of the best blogs I’ve ever seen.

I chose this image rather than one of her more graphic ones because I love black and white photography, especially in a portrait of a beautiful woman.

“Even the handsomest men do not have the same momentary effect on the world as a truly beautiful woman does.” Write that down.

Vintage Fetish & Erotica

I’ve put together a new board on Pinterest called Vintage Fetish & Erotica that I think you will enjoy. Among these images is a beautiful photo of the legendary Kim Christy and a friend.

This photo is part of an absolutely amazing collection of vintage photographs featuring crossdressers, drag queens, transvestites, transgender performers and female impersonators that you will probably not find anywhere else. Check it out.

For those of you not familiar with Pinterest, clicking on an image takes you to the place it was found. The collection with Kim Christy is a Flickr page by the mysterious Trannilicious.

A Trip To Cow Town

I’ve been in Lancaster, P.A. this week exploring by motorcycle. We went to Gettysburg, Valley Forge, Harrisburg, Maryland, and Bowers among other places. Yes, there is a Bowers, P.A.

Today being the last day I took some photos that I think are typical of things you might see this time of year along the back roads of Pennsylvania.

Next time I plan to be on a new bike, as of now it looks like a Triumph Tiger 800 XRx or BMW  F800 GS.

Remember, you do not have to ride like you stole it, unless you actually did.

The Beauty Salon Fetish-Photos of Curlers and Rollers

The beauty salon fetish is an all time favorite of crossdressers, transvestites and sissies. Unfortunately, few photos of men in curlers and rollers can be found. Possibly because by the time they got up the nerve to go they didn’t have enough hair to curl.

Here are 351 photos of women in curlers of all kinds and links for more on this Pinterest board: Hair In Progress. You will have to sign in to view them all. Enjoy!

The Top 3 Reasons To Shoot A Transvestite

So you invest in a new camera and lens, and decide to take some amazing photos. You study photo blogs, watch videos, and read books about light, color and composition.

But what to shoot? Sunsets? Rainbows? Yellowstone National Park? Think again.

Rangers in Yellowstone National Park recently rescued a tourist who was trying to take a photo. All he wanted to do was take a great image that he could show his friends and family. But as he tried to get the right composition, he fell backwards off a cliff and by sheer luck got wedged in a small crevice in the Grand Canyon. They said he was lucky to land where he did because he was at the top of a 200 foot drop.

He would have been better off asking the park rangers where the transvestites hung out and have them pose. Here are the top three reasons to shoot a transvestite:

  1. You will probably not fall off a cliff. Most transvestites do not like heights.
  2. One of the first things you learn about photography is to try to tell a story, it rarely gets more interesting than a man dressed as a woman.
  3. You don’t have to sit and wait hours for the perfect light. Put him in a chair and ask him to smile, all transvestites love to be photographed.

Sure, you can go the traditional route and hike for miles into the woods or mountains in the middle of the night, and wait for a perfect sunrise. But as Ansel Adams, possibly the most famous photographer of all time once said: “A good photograph is knowing where to stand.”

Reconsidering Sissies

Reconsidering Sissies is the name of a new board I found today on Pinterest. This is his mission statement:

“To be honest, I’ve never been fond of Sissies association with my leaning toward the feminine…and to my innate sense of carrying both a male and female sense of self. But, coupling that with my submissive nature, I’m beginning to warm to the idea. So, this board reflects my coming to terms with the Sissy inside.”

Alrighty then. Go to my Pinterest page, log in and click on the boards I follow to see everything from Gender Benders to Pretty Boys. Literally thousands of photos, many of them not men dressed as women but women that almost look like men dressed as women. I’m currently following over 200 boards, some of which have probably been removed by now.

Feel free to follow me and if you start your own board behave yourself.

In Search Of Snowdrops

(Both images shot with my Sony RX100, RAW, ISO 125, Aperture Priority f/4, and gently processed In Lightroom and Photoshop)

I looked under chairs, I looked under tables. I’m tryin to find the key, to fifty million fables. They call me the seeker, I been searchin low and high. I wont get to get what I’m after, till the day I die.

I learned to raise my voice in anger, yeah but look at my face ain’t this a smile? I’m happy when life’s good, and when its bad I cry, I got values but I don’t know how or why.

Crossdressers With Cameras-Expose Yourself

I hope that everyone had a great holiday and got wonderful gifts. One of the most popular gifts this year is the same as last year, and the year before that, and the year before that-a new camera.

As an avid (obsessive) photographer myself I’d like to share a couple of things I’ve learned the hard way, things I still do again and again and again.

First of all, the subject is one of the most important parts of a good photo. If you can find a professional model to dress up in all kinds of cute outfits you can concentrate on understanding your camera. But even those with access to a model find that they are not dolls to play with, they get tired, jumpy, and bitchy after you insist that they reapply their lipstick a hundred times. What can you do?

You sweetheart, can be your own model. Yes, it may be uncomfortable for you to stretch yourself into a tight corset, find the perfect panties to go with your stockings and garter belt, try on countless blouses, skirts and dresses, and go through 50 shades of eyeshadow, but an artist has to sacrifice for their art.

So you decide to dress up and take some photos of yourself with your new camera, how hard can it be?

The level of your success is in direct proportion to your level of perfectionism. That being said, you still want sharp, well lit photos to show your friends and the girls at work, so here are a couple of tips I’ve learned by taking and deleting thousands of photos that were probably worth keeping.

I’m using two photos of the lovely Alena to demonstrate what you might go through with a new camera you’re unfamiliar with.

Tip 1: Be aware of everything in the frame. It may be hard to notice the little distractions until you view your photos on a large computer screen. Fix them and take more.

Classic Couch Pose

Classic Couch Pose

This is the classic couch pose and for the most part is very, very good. But the stocking sticking out of the couch cushion and what is probably his jeans hanging over the door takes the attention away from the pretty guy with the large breasts.

Your photos do not have to be perfect. I chose these two because I want to give you inspiration as well as show you some great images. Alena is from Minsk in the Republic of Belarus. From what I’ve been told the men there take everything very seriously, from crossdressing to makeup. Your results may vary.

Tip 2: Experiment. Open the windows and sit on the kitchen table. Cross your legs one way, then try the other way. Wear heels, don’t wear heels. Order a pizza and see if the delivery guy will pose with you.

I once read that if you get one photo you feel is a keeper out of a hundred, you should consider that a success. But that photographer did not dress up as a girl when he was home alone (as far as I know).

Crossdressing Selfies-Techniques and Obsessive Photography Disorder

The main technique for a good crossdressing selfie is the pose. Sitting in a chair is fine, but experiment with different body angles and expressions.

After that the best thing you can do is use a tripod or put your camera on a solid surface, then set the self timer.

Its very important that you realize that you do not have to make a technically perfect shot.

Professional photographers sometimes add grain to their photos to give them a gritty effect, can you imagine that? Many have cameras that cost more than your car, and their pictures are magazine quality, then they make them look rough. Of course we all know that many people like it rough.

But if you want to shoot for a sharp photo with as little noise (grain) as possible, here are a couple of very obvious tips you probably already know.

More light will give you a faster shutter speed, which hopefully results in sharper photos.

If you know what ISO is and where to set it on your camera, keep it as low as possible. Higher ISO shows more noise (grain).

Now if you happen to have Obsessive Photography Disorder as I do, here are some very, very simple yet important things to think about while setting up and shooting:

Aperture, white balance, focal length, metering mode, composition, aspect ratio, format, symmetry, and of course bracketing. Easy peasy right?

Then after downloading the RAW files (of course you shot RAW-don’t be ridiculous) make the basic adjustments in Lightroom:

White balance, exposure, fill light, blacks, brightness, contrast, clarity, vibrance, and saturation. Adjust the highlights, lights, darks, shadows, play with individual color hue, saturation and luminance, reduce noise and sharpen.

Next think about black and white by converting to grayscale and adjusting the luminosity levels of the red, orange, yellow, green, aqua, blue, purple and magenta separately.

Now save the file as a PSD, TIFF or JPEG. Of course you can tweak it more in Photoshop if you have it, adding masks, adjusting the levels and experimenting with effects and filters.

Did I mention to keep an eye on the histogram? Consider exposing to the right for at least some of the hundreds of shots you’ll be taking.

Now I’ve heard rumors, mostly in back alleys and the photography section of book stores, that some people are taking pictures on auto, or even with their phone and getting fantastic results.

Crossdressing Photography Tips part 2-Portraits a Specialty

In an earlier post about crossdressing photography I focused on my friend Claudia Tyler Mae. Claudia was not only lucky enough to get a professional makeover and try on beautiful clothes, he also had a photographer shoot him.

You may not have that option, or perhaps you’re just shy when you’re all dressed up. Butt wait…you don’t need a photographer, you don’t need a fancy $5,000 camera, and you don’t need Photoshop and/or Lightroom.

I have several cameras as well as all the editing software, but the real key is a good subject. And what better subject than a very girly-girl that loves to dress up from head to toe, and pose in all kinds of sexy positions-you!

Use any camera you have or even your phone. The real key to a great portrait is the look of the model-you.

Sure, you can read about portrait photography and they’ll insist that the real keys are lighting, background, aperture, composition, and possibly the rule of thirds. Well listen; any time I hear the rule of thirds mentioned I want to throw up. Photography is about capturing a moment, if the image isn’t tack sharp, perfectly composed or has a bit of noise it doesn’t matter. Your crossdressing selfies are probably not going to appear in National Geographic.

By the way, there are actually two different Pinterest pages titled crossdressing selfies. Google it if you need inspiration.

Be bold, be creative, and most of all have fun like this young man. Not only does he look great and have a wonderful expression, he found a unique location at his storage shed. Photo found on Pinterest.

Equivalents is a series of photographs of clouds taken by Alfred Stieglitz from 1925 to 1934. They are generally recognized as the first photographs intended to free the subject matter from literal interpretation, and as such, are some of the first completely abstract photographic works of art.

This is my equivalent.

I shot this at a local park early this morning with my trusty Sony RX100. I call it My Equivalent. Catchy huh?

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Macro Test

Despite what I said I went out and bought a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Sunday. It is amazing! Within 3 days I had taken a gorgeous TACK SHARP 5472 x 3648 photo and had it printed out at 10 x 15 inches and framed.

I’ve taken night shots, sunrises, sunsets, and experimented with every one of the many settings, modes and features available. Except Macro because I was under the impression that the Sony RX100 is not very good at that. So I had to see for myself.

As you may or may not know, there is no dedicated Macro focusing mode on the Sony RX100. There is a Macro scene mode and it isn’t very good. But you can shoot great close up shots with any of the Autofocus modes, as well as with any shooting mode. This camera will focus on objects as close as 2 inches.

I did a quick test with my new Sony RX100 using a tripod, a small aperture, low ISO, and a red pepper. I took a group of shots using different settings, and found that using the Autofocus area set to Center worked best.

The full size image has been cropped to 2000 x 1723 and resampled to 72ppi. No sharpening or other adjustments were made in Photoshop.

My best shot was made using f8 1/2 sec ISO 125, Aperture Priority, and Autofocus Area Center.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Macro Test

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Macro Test

The original is 5472 x 3648, but how large do you really need pictures of your peppers?

By the way, the base ISO for the Sony RX100 is 125, so using the two lower settings does not improve dynamic range or reduce noise to any real degree.

I also shot a red apple but it wasn’t as pretty as the pepper.

More pictures to come. From what I’ve been hearing it might be a snow scene by Thanksgiving.

Crossdressing Photography Tips-Pretty Pictures

Every crossdresser I know, EVERY SINGLE ONE would love to share his hobby with friends, preferably women friends. Unfortunately not all women understand your fascination with dressing up, much less appreciate photos of you in your panties.

There are plenty of places to share your pictures such as Flickr. Another option is to print them out and leave them on your desk at work (if you work at a desk).

I was at Barnes and Noble the other day and saw a great book called Photographing Women: 1,000 Poses by Eliot Siegel. This book may be beyond your needs and is very detailed. Poses include: Standing Straight, Feet Crossed, Leaning, Bending, Using Props, Playing with the Dress, Over-the-Shoulder Gaze, and Back to Camera. Butt wait…

This is more about having fun than trying to look like professional model Elliott Sailors, who has recently decided to become a male model so that’s even sillier.

Here are a few tips to make it more like fun and less like an assignment. I know how you guys hate assignments.

  1. If you take a picture in a mirror clean the mirror first. See if you can hold the camera or camera phone so it’s not visible. You can always crop later. Using the flash in a mirror pic will not work very well.
  2. If you have a tripod use it, otherwise improvise. Position your camera on a dresser or anything that seems to be the right height, then take a few test shots using the self timer. Again, you can crop it later if you end up standing too far back.
  3. Consider sitting in a chair if standing makes you feel uncomfortable. Not only is this an easier position, but allows you to show off your panties, stockings and heels in all kinds of fun and sexy ways.

Here is a recent picture of my good friend Claudia Tyler Mae. Gorgeous isn’t she?

Claudia Tyler Mae

Claudia Tyler Mae

Not only did Claudia get a professional makeover and try on all kinds of outfits and wigs, she had a friend take pictures. You may or may not have this option.

Mirror shot, tripod or reasonable facsimile and self timer. Feel free to send me your pictures if you want a woman’s opinion. I will never use them anywhere without your permission.

Note: if you send me pics keep it clean, literally. My email is on my website.
